When Louis sings, "I was born in Amarillo with the honky tonks and the rodeos," it''s the truth. He was born Louis Anthony Homen and was raised in Amarillo, Texas in a large, close-knit, Catholic family. He graduated from Amarillo High School where he sang in the choir and was on the wrestling team. After high school, he attended Amarillo College for a year and enjoyed touring parts of Europe with the choir. Louis then attended West Texas A&M University where he graduated with a B.S. in Geology.
Like his autobiographical song Amarillo Bound, his summers were spent on a John Deere tractor helping with the family farm. When he wasn''t farming, he was playing his guitar and lining up gigs. He started off as a solo act at a barn dance and never looked back.
Louis married Alice Hill and they moved to Dallas shortly afterwards where he pursued his environmental consulting career. With his band days on hold for a while, he started is own company, LH Environmental Consulting, Inc., which grew to become a leading environmental consulting firm in North Texas.
After trying for seven years, Louis and Alice were truly blessed with the birth of their daughter, Chelsea and even more blessed and surprised by the birth of their second daughter, Meredith one year later. Louis wrote the song By the Faith after Chelsea was born so they would always remember their faith in God led them to such a happy and glorious day.
Louis never could shake the urge to perform, so he continued playing, and put more emphasis on song writing. Fulfilling an old dream, he recorded his first CD, Never Too Late, which was released in 2002. In addition to work and family, Louis enjoys spending his time writing and promoting his CD, and somehow finds time to golf in between.
