All the members of the .357 STring Band have been active members in the punk/rockabilly scene in the midwest for years before deciding to go bluegrass. Their Live show has been referred to as "Hoe-down meets Throw-down" by many reviewers.
The .357 STring Band''s unique mash of punk and bluegrass echoes both old-school country and traditional mountain music, but the group is much harder to define than it might seem. The Milwaukee bands'' amped-up, all acoustic sound has won praise from the purist likes of Wayne Hancock, and JD Wilkes of Those Legendary Shack Shakers. These boys have managed a sound all their own accomplishing the nearly impossible by bringing together scenesters from ALL genres.
Plucking banjos, spinning upright bass and blended harmonies arent what one would expect from this quartet, but that only adds to their allure
