Who the hell is DEE ?
From the honeymoon capital of the world, Niagara Falls, singer/composer/multi-instrumentalist/DJ/producer DEE, made the move to Montreal at the age of 18 where he built his home studio and completely destroyed his credit line....
He became the leader of the Montreal band The Urbanauts and quickly became a prominent face in the Montreal music scene.
Going solo in 2001, DEE went to work non-stop on his special blend of electro-pop and dance-rock. His 5-song EP released in 2003 snagged Hollywood attention landing DEE’s catchy songs in indie films and TV series including “Grey’s Anatomy”(ABC), “Punk’d” (MTV), “Roswell” (Fox), “One Tree Hill” (Warner Bros), “Tru Calling”(FOX), “Las Vegas”(NBC), “Ghost Whisperer” (CBC), “Joan Of Arcadia”(CBS) and many more.
Closer to home, five songs by DEE have also been featured in Indie films including Ricardo Trogi’s latest Canadian flick “Horloge Biologique”.
Produced by DEE himself, his long awaited debut album has been released in Canada on March 2006. Lyrically playful and melodically ambitious, DEE’s power pop is filled with satisfying hooks that remain with you for days afterwards.
"Dee''s self-titled CD is a party-mix of dance, rock, disco and funk stuffed with catchy hooks from start to finish. Dee has an innate ability to stitch those catchy hooks together... while infusing the songs with a depth and sophistication that brings to mind Prince or the Pet Shop Boys. With music like this, Madonna, as others do, should keep an ear tuned to the music Montreal has to offer." JOURNAL DE MONTREAL
“5 out of 5… His songs are too groovy to be ignored ….DEE offers a pop which is definitely intelligent, corrosive, danceable and jazzy… Whether you want to dance or not, this album won’t give you a chance to stop… a must!” METRO
“…Groovy enough for the R''n''B hipsters, thrashy enough for the punk kids, and dancey to make the club kids shake it, there could really be something brewing here." CHART ATTACK
“…DEE offers a sprightly Beck-style funk freak-out for your ears and ass… DEE knows what the kids like, offering up stanky bass riffs and sing-along choruses…” EXCLAIM!
“…DEE’s funky music sweats out a fun groove... His album is sensual and danceable…” ELLE
