Ernie & the Emperors started off their career as an opening act for the Isley Brothers at Earl Warren Showgrounds, which was all history from that point on, also adding to their #1 hit in 1965 "meet me at the corner". These three brothers from Santa Barbara listened to a song written by Dar and Dale Hamilton and knew this was a story about Santa Barbara set-to-song and loved it!
