MP3 Secret Broadcast - Exploding Spiders
"With the dreaminess of Doves, the sonic guitar work of early Radiohead and the grandiosity of The Verve, Secret Broadcast combine the best of mid-''90s U.K. guitar pop bands without sounding derivative or, worse, unoriginal." - Brian Pascual, ChartAttack

Details:
''Exploding Spiders'' was produced by Laurence Currie (Sloan, Wintersleep, Holy F*ck, In-Flight Safety) and mastered by Noah Mintz (Broken Social Scene, The National, Death From Above 1979).
Since Secret Broadcast’s formation in 2006 they have played alongside acts including Metric, The Stills, Attack in Black, Matthew Good and Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, and were invited to perform at such festivals as Virgin Festival Calgary and Toronto, North-By-Northeast (NXNE), Canadian Music Week (CMW), and JunoFest.
''Exploding Spiders'' (the title a nod to a quote from beat generation pioneer Jack Kerouac) is both an oeuvre in lulling rock guitar rhythms and catchy sing-along anthems. Experiments during the studio sessions using synth keyboards (even a Mellotron which used to live at Abbey Road) add to the massive atmospheric sound on the album. The final disc has, at once, the ability to be intimate and grandiose at the same time and drifts from lyrical themes of love to loss. The band’s love of various styles of Pop and Rock music from Sigur Ros to Oasis remains the strength of this unique album.
