Scars brings together a band who revel in the brashness of modern pop culture within the perfectly formed three minutes of its existence, with its punchy punk attitude and its perfect pop dimensions Scars will inevitably weld itself instantly to the brain.

Details:
2009

2009 saw Little Volcanoes in and out of the studio, recording around 16 tracks (produced by Adrian Hogg and additional re-mixing by Jon Rose), which were given the working title for the sessions ''Stranger Than Hollywood''. Little Volcanoes are looking for an early March/April 2010 release for their first clutch of EPs, the band have earmarked their first EP release to be the insanely catchy song ''Scars''.

Very early 2009 saw the band play the historic Ritz Ballroom to around 250 people (a dream achieved for singer Phil Quinn as he used to watch the bands from his position as bar tender in 2002), vowing one day to grace that same stage as The Smiths and Madonna once did. This gig recieved much acclaim, and exceeded the bands expectations making them to vow to make their next gig even bigger and better!

2009 also saw the band play some shows of real notice when they supported Mark Morriss from The Bluetones in Manchester (both Mark Morriss and his manager coming over to speak with band afterwards to congratulate them on such a fantastic show) and ''The Maps'' festival, where they played to a large and very appreciative crowd at the well known Night and Day Cafe.

2009 was also the year that the band ventured outside of Manchester and played some electrifying gigs in Leeds, Oldham, Blackburn and Leeds whilst making very useful and sought after contacts with promoters along the way for the future.

Another show of real importance was their celebratory homecoming show in the uber cool Manchester venue ''Bighands''. A regular stop off for all touring bands big and small who play the Academy next door, making it a hot bed for the Manchester music scene. On this occasion, Little Volcanoes rocked through a 1 hour set to a packed room of around 175 people.

Some very welcome news came in October of 2009 when Darren Pearce of the Manchester label ''Music’s
My Religion'' became aware of the band through the grapevine, and began talking to them about possibly working together in 2010. Both parties progressed to the point where serious talks began in earnest in early January 2010. With MMR''s
connections and industry experience, both parties are more than confident they can forge together a successful partnership for the future.

2009 closed with the band enlisting the services of Manchester mastering company ''80hertz'' to get that final polish on the songs they been working on so hard since the summer. 80hertz have worked with artistes such as Lilly Allen, The Twang and Twisted Wheel in the past, so the band are hopeful that by working with 80hertz they can come out with the best possible result in 2010.

2010

The most exciting thing about 2010 so far for the L/Vs is the prospect of receiving radio play and press. The band feel that by working with the label ''Music’s My Religion'' they stand a chance of finally being heard above the herd, and being recognised as one of Britian''s guitar music''s real contenders. Nothing is certain in music, but with such heavy weight songs such as ''Scars'' and Boys are Cruel'' in their canon they stand a real chance of reaching a wider audience.

People who have been lucky enough to have heard the later drafts of the songs they have recorded, have all commented on how strong every song is and with real industry support coming in the shape of MMR, this could be the break the band have craved!

With the proposed DV8 Magazine show in the pipe line, a mini tour arranged over Easter to promote their much anticipated EPs, and two Charity shows amongst numerous gigs lined up within the North West, one thing for certain is that 2010 is going to be the busiest year for the band to date.

This could well be the year Little Volcanoes finally erupt!
