"On a beam of light, the earth is perched. That’s here. That’s home. That’s us, he says. Everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of and betrayed have lived out their lives here. Every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every inventor and explorer, every king every pauper. All on a mote of dust hanging in a sunbeam. forever growing, glowing and falling. The delusion that we are infallible in this Universe is challenged by this point of blue light. Fading away, scarred and alone. In our obscurity there is perhaps no better demonstration of human vanity than this distant image of our tiny world. On a beam of light, the pale blue dot is perched. Our home, our story, our tears, our hearts." This quote is based off Carl Sagan''s "The Pale Blue Dot", and can be found in track 12 "On A Beam Of Light". The speech is meant to make us reflect on how small we really are. We are just a small dot, flying through space at the speed of light, doing our best to make sense of the things around us, for the short amount of time we are here. Many songs on "Photon" include ambient sounds, white noise, and static. It is almost as if the music is created from the noise, and then returns to static once the track is over. This is not significantly different from ourselves, born into the noise, we do what we can to make things our own and find harmony, up until the point we fall back into the static. The scale of what this album presents is massive, universal in fact. But it is not trying to impose any answers on you, it just wants you to ask the questions for yourself. "Photon" is dedicated to all the dreamers, the people that step outside the human imposed minutia and dare to dream. Those are the people that find happiness, and the ones that really hear the music.
