Details:
Amanda Leigh Mueller was born on January 3rd, 1986 in the small town of Two Rivers, WI. From the time she could walk she was singing, and she even believes her first words were in the form of a song. Fortunately for Amanda, she was born into a very musical family. "We never once got together and didn''t play music and sing. It was, and still is some of the best times we have!" recalls Amanda. Her aunts, uncles, and parents knew from an early age that her singing wouldn''t stop at family gatherings, and they were right. By the time she was 4, she was singing solos at her local church.
While attending elementary and high school, Amanda sang in the choir as well as many talent shows. She was also involved in all of the school''s plays and musicals. Outside of school, Amanda appeared at local theatres and venues including the Capitol Civic Center in Manitowoc, and the Stephanie Weil Center in Sheboygan. Her performances range from playing "Guinevere" in Camelot to "Rusty" in Footloose, to a "Wife" and "Slave" in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat. Throughout the 20+ plays and musicals she has been a part of along with nine years of dance experience, Amanda has proven she has always been comfortable and at home on the stage.
Musically, Amanda has always had a deep love for Country, Bluegrass and Folk music. She believes she first got into Country music in middle school, and has never stopped loving it. This past year, Indiana-based songwriter, Harry Dickson saw Amanda''s love for this style of music and heard it in her voice. He immediately asked her to record a few of his songs in a Nashville recording studio. While in Nashville, Amanda worked with producer Tom K. Pick who was very impressed with her voice, mental toughness, and perfect pitch. Together, the two of them created Amanda''s first EP entitled "It''s Alright to be Nice to a Woman." The EP was released in May of 2004.
Through years of following her dreams, Amanda has kept her feet on the ground…thanks to her family and very supportive friends. "I still have a very long ways to go, but if I wasn''t going to be in this for the long haul, I wouldn''t have even started. It''s been so unbelievable so far, and I can''t wait to see what is ahead!" Through it all education has been very important to her, and next year is planning on attending UW Green Bay while she makes her rounds as a local performer, but hopes that this will eventually lead to a lifetime of making professional music. "Hey, you have to start somewhere!"
