Details:
Described by one well-travelled Nashville session musician she has worked with recently as being a delicious cross between Patsy Cline and Janis Joplin; Angela Dawn infuses her debut album with classic country style, just a hint of southern blues, and a tasteful dash of good ol'' fashioned folksy feelings.
Tootsie:
Angela''s personal tribute to a genuine Nashville icon, Tootsie''s World-Famous Orchid Lounge, and it''s equally famous owner, the late Tootsie Bess. Located across the alley from the stage door at the legendary Ryman Auditorium, Tootsie''s stage has been graced by the likes of Willie Nelson, Tom T. Hall, Mel Tillis, Waylon Jennings, and Patsy Cline.
Slow Talking Man:
Angela takes her voice in a new direction in this classic country love lament, as she introduces a sultry and slightly husky tone to this Patsy Cline-styled tune.
White House, Tennessee
The beautiful town of Whitehouse, only a few miles north of Nashville, was the home of the late, great, actor-commedian Jim Varney, best remembered for his movie and television portrayal of Ernest P. Worrel, a bumbling but good-hearted yokel. Angela wrote this song as her personal tribute to her good friend Varney, and the many millions of other lives he touched and enriched before his death in February, 2000.
