Details:
The Max Allen Band (MAB) can be described as an 8-up combination of musical genres. You never know what they might play: Reggae, Rap, Funk, Rock… the list goes on. You can be sure that whatever MAB plays, it will be top notch. Max Allen’s strong vocals, stellar guitar work and entertaining stage presence always satisfies. Meanwhile, in rhythm land, it’s being laid on thick and juicy by bassist Dace Robie. His six string fretless fingering somehow seems to telekinetically sync with the back beaten beats by the one and only Shaan France. His mesmerizing, heartbeat driven drums leave MAB fans begging for more.
MAB delivers a solid, well seasoned performance laced with improvisation, experimentation, and an overall love for the music they play and the fans they attract. Once described as “An amazingly full-sounding trio”, MAB now performs in a variety of configurations including as a trio, four piece and at times with guest performers joining them on stage.
MAB tours regularly and performs about 125 shows per year. Over the past seven years Max and MAB have had the privilege of performing on stage with and/or opening for a number of great musicians and bands, including Larry Crane (Mellencamp), Chris Duarte, Dishwalla, Lukas Nelson, The Marshall Tucker Band, Otiel Burbridge, Dickey Betts, The Spin Doctors, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Karl Denson''s Tiny Universe, Ekoostik Hookah, Dark Star Orchestra and Umphrey''s McGee.
MAB is currently touring in support of its November 2009 release Ending Sun.
The Max Allen Band is currently signed with Big Walnut Records and is a member of the Homegrown Music Network.
