Details:
Several of the songs have a very ‘80s feel to them, others are more classic rock-oriented. The album features strong vocal harmonies and edgy bass- and drum riffs. Some (like I Fell In Love and Bad Times) are rockers, others (Apple Of My Eye and You’re Not With Me) are more melodic. The songs draw from different influences: El Norte has a Latin feel, with some acoustic guitar- it was first played live at a Garlic Farm in Gilroy, CA for Mexican workers of questionable legality, who loved it. Leavin’ It To Rambo is a Ska spoof on U.S. Foreign policy. All songs feature edgy effect-laden guitar tracks that are influenced by European guitarists of the 70s and 80s including: The Edge (U2), Andy Summers (The Police) as well as rock classic guitarists like Pete Townsend (The Who) and very current with todays bands (Airborne Toxic Event, 30 Seconds to Mars).
The first media exposure for the assembled CD came during a San Diego Radio DJ listening session. Here’s the feedback so far:
Tim Pyles (94.9FM San Diego):
“[I Fell In Love] is going on my show tonight”.
“Another highlight of the demo review session...”
Andrew Rowley (91X San Diego / Tijuana, Mexico):
“...[I Fell In Love] is a great song”
