A visitor''s guide to Good Clean Fun Vol. II:
First stop the charming and favorite Morning Song. It is a warm and fuzzy ear worm. The next song is the title song that was written for a musical I worked on when I first began writing music, "Evangeline." The third cut is the audience''s favorite, trhe La Cha Cha. The fourth and fifth are more Latin rhythms. The next set is my cowboy novelty songs, topping off with my 2 favorites, Horny Ole Devil and Take Advantage of Me. We then do 3 romantic ballads, including She Lost Her Way, which also was from Evangeline, and the autobiographical You Raise Me Up. The next two cuts are for my maternal and paternal influences, moralistic lesson songs about my life and my experiencews. The best of them all is Operator Information, followed by the campy Watch Out for Satan. The disc closes off with a love ballad, Song for You, followed by two reworked traditional inspirational songs. The Lone Wild Bird is a song we sang in high school. I only remembered the first verse, so I wrote the last two verses. Amazing Grace was also an experiment. Our songbook only has 4 verses. My pastor called on me tro write the fifth down and sing it. I wrote 25 verses. This has four of them, with the opening one traditional. Truly a trip around the world of music. I hope you have enjoyed the ricde. It''s been a blast building the rollercoaster. Cheers, Beau.
THE SONG WRITER
Greetings,
I''m Beau. I have been writing songs for aobut 10 years. When I was a kid I sang in the choir , which was my first love of music. I also studied piano for about 6 years but lost it all with age. When I was 21 I went to a disco in New York and fell in love with disco music and went on to be one of the top DJs in the country, playing in san Francisco. I worked with many of the disco stars of the day, including the Village People, Natalie Cole, Sylvester and Grace Jones. The second Saturday I was at the Trocadero playing music, John Travolta was on my dance floor and Saturday Night Fever was selling 26 million copies. I quickly realized that I was at the right place at the right time. I continued playing in L.A. until about 1982. When I retired I donated all of my LPs and 12" discs to the archives of Popular American Music Special Collection at UCLA, along with my autograph and memorabilia collection. It is now part of history. After that I didn''t have much to do with music for about 12 years. I opened a showroom in the California Mart and sold trends for the eyes, much as I had for the ears. I named and launched Joe Boxer, launched LA Eyeworks and Nick and Nora. I was wildly successful and retired in 1995. Two years later I auditioned for a choral group and was turned down. I said, "Screw ''em, I''ll write my own music," so I hooked up with a fellow named Alex Varden in Hollywood and we quickly began to write lots of music. We have great chemistry. I subsequently left L.A. and am living in Nebraska and continue to write songs with him over the phone. This is my first commercial endeavor and I hope you will find it as filled with fun as I have intended it to be. There are many styles and sounds to tempt your senses, but most of all it''s GOOD CLEAN FUN.
Cheers,
Beau.
