*Here''s the Skinny*
The Bible Fire is a three piece, synth-driven rock outfit from Fort Worth, Texas. We formed in late 2005 in response to being unformed for so long. In all honesty, during the first few months The Bible Fire was strictly a solo project for me, Robert Halstead. While rebounding from the demise of Junk Science, a band that had gone on permanent vacation, I began to write and record songs according to my standards alone. As those early tracks neared completion, I found myself receiving a lot of advice and opinions from my good friend and fellow musician, Mr. Grant Scruggs. Eventually, we decided to produce an EP together and soon after, I pitched him the name "The Bible Fire". He recoiled in disgust; and thus, this baby was born. Rob + Grant = The Bible Fire.

*Synth Rock*
I''ve always been fascinated by the versatility and accessibility of synthesizers and questioned why more bands didn''t incorporate them into their work. For The Bible Fire we decided to let Grant take center stage on guitar, while I concentrated on vocals and programming. The synth and drum loops add a sense of character to the songs that straightforward rock usually lacks. The vocals, always organic, and the synthesizer, forever synthetic, comprise the foundation of The Bible Fire. This cohesion of analog and digital elements gives our music dimension, transcends traditional garage rock and, ultimately, defines our sound. Inherently, all of the most tedious work is done in the studio, well before we ever hit the stage.

*The Spread of Weakness*
Our first EP was independently released in February 2006. The title The Spread of Weakness seemed to convey the overall feel of the record; lyrically as well as musically, our goal was to capture the darker elements of human nature, seething with irony, cynicism, and nihilistic negativity, and disseminate it to the listener as trivialized nonsense. The album was recorded and produced by The Bible Fire and if you listen closely, underneath every note lies a hint of sarcasm.

*Three Oh is the Magic Number*
Once The Spread was complete,we knew the kind of live show that we wanted would require more than just a couple of guys performing over a bunch of loops. An amazing musician as well as a good friend, Ian Walden had previously recorded some guitar tracks for the EP, so we knew he liked the material; and since he''s also a talented drummer, the spot we needed to fill in the line-up, we propositioned him to drum for The Bible Fire for an indeterminate period. He accepted. Since then we''ve just call him Sir Ian.

*The Name*
Everyone wants to know if we''re Christians, Atheists, or anything in between. We are indeed.
