MP3 Bob Karwin - In Spite of it All
Jimmy Buffett, Jason Mraz and the Eagles jamming after a night of rum drinking.
11 MP3 Songs
COUNTRY: Modern Country, ROCK: Acoustic
Details:
Bob Karwin began his music career in Boston, Massachusetts on June 4, 1990, playing to drunken mobs in the Irish pubs and college bars. He quickly made a name for himself in Beantown by being able to tame an unruly crowd fired by Guinness and Jack Daniels using only his guitar and a microphone.
In 1993, Bob packed up his Jeep and moved to sunny San Diego. His blend of humor and thoughtful songwriting struck a chord with Southern Californians and he began to develop a following at his rowdy one man shows.
"In Spite of it All" marks Bob''s third cd release. The songs range from the lilting, shoreside ease of the title track "In Spite of it All" to a full on chugging, conky-tonk train song, "Shiny Locomotive." If you are looking for an album to sulk to, look elsewhere. "In Spite of it All" is all about good times.
Bob has performed with luminaries of the sunburn circuit including Coral Reefers Greg "Fingers'' Taylor, Amy Lee and Doyle Grisham as well as legendary performers Sunny Jim White, Scott Kirby, Kelly McGuire, Jerry Gontang, Tommy Rocker, Jim Hoehn and Mark Mulligan. Bob even once shared a bill with Barenaked Ladies at the Pond in Anaheim.
Bob has been seen at national events such as "Migration" in Long Beach, CA, "Phins to the West" in Laughlin, NV, "Six String Music" in New Orleans, "Last Man Standing" at Tommy Rockers in Las Vegas, NV, and at bars and parties too numerous to mention.
So grab a rum punch, tour the web site and come back often. Thank you for your support.
Here are some reviews of Bob''s music:
"Tears of f***ing joy is what I am moved to - and you will be too - by Bob Karwin''s intelligent wit-strewn je ne sais pop. I hear echoes of - could it be? - Jimmy Buffett and Bucknaked Ladies, not to mention Neil Young, Harry Belafonte, Woody Guthrie, Nick Cave and Billy Bongbong ...All in all, I would have to say Bob Karwin is EVERYTHING THAT MUSIC IS ABOUT." Richard Meltzer - San Diego Reader
"With his Jim Croce-esqe voice...Karwin is an example of musical talent kept hidden in the shadows of popular culture" Bob Hefflefinger - Tropical https://www.tradebit.com
"Bob Karwin''s original songs are well-crafted, witty, sensitive at times and could easily be adapted for use in film, television, or arranged and produced for a pop artist. Karwin is a strong up-and-comer with enough of the right ingredients to earn attention as a singer/songwriter."
Cole Coleman - Music Connection Magazine (Los Angeles, CA)
"Fire up the blender, pour yourself a frozen concoction, and enjoy!" Michael Krager - EGuide
