Temple Dog© is Jim Flanegin, and all of the musical voices in his head.
Jim has lived in South East Asia (Indonesia, The Philippines, and Hong Kong), Spain, California, and Washington DC, providing him access to a wide variety of music and cultures. What didn’t go in one ear and out the other, stuck.
From his visual arts background, his approach is to paint songs, layer upon layer, until the musical picture is complete. He draws from a well of musical experiences; concerts, ambient sounds, human voice as rhythm, chanting, dance, movie scores, and travel. His music is colorful, listenable and active.
Jim currently lives in Northern California with his lovely wife, daughter, and camelias, lilies, roses, orchids, a magnolia tree, a huge avocado tree, two orange trees, and the song birds, squirrels, lizards, hawks, doves, hummingbirds and cats who pass through.
