The Aurian Haller Band plays a unique blend of folk, pop and jazz, which combines the tunes of award-winning poet and singer/songwriter, Aurian Haller, with a talented group of musicians from Quebec City. The quartet plays songs that range from acoustic guitar, string bass and slide guitar, to soaring electric guitar solos and synth pads. At the heart of the music are Haller’s haunting lyrics. Haller has written several books and has won numerous national awards, including the Canadian National Magazine Award for poetry. His songs are reminiscent of Leonard Cohen, Nick Drakel and Ron Sexsmith, but also echo francophone influences such as Daniel Bélanger, Ariane Moffatt and Marc Déry.
