ABOUT THE POET
Jane was born and raised in Northern California. She earned her B.A. (Sonoma State U), M.A. (Sonoma State U), and Ph.D. (UC Davis) in English literature with specializations in medieval literature, classical mythology, and the literature of the Bible. She has worked as a carpenter’s assistant, optician, and doula, but her primary professions are teaching, writing, and music. From 2004-2009, she served as a professor at Wheaton College outside Chicago while pursuing an active writing life.
Jane is the voice of SONGS FROM THE SECRET LIFE, a CD of her poems read aloud with musical interludes, and the author of SANCTUARY and MADE IN THE IMAGE, two collections of her poetry.
When she performs her poetry, Jane brings all the power of her voice, her flute, and her kalimba to her audience, seeking to give God the glory through creative expression.
