Passionate Singer Songwriter Micah Barnes began his career in Toronto during high school when his brother jazz drummer Daniel Barnes began playing bars and cabarets. In 1983 they moved the act to Queen Street and joined the blossoming Indie Music Scene where they became a headline act and opened concerts for the likes of Jane Siberry, The Parachute Club & Holly Cole.
Joining the Pop Acapella group The Nylons in 1989 gave Micah the opportunity to tour the world and record multiple discs with his hometown heroes.
After a successful” run” joining folks like Gladys Knight and The Spinners on stage Micah decided to go solo again and recorded a Techno meets Rock disc with producer Brad Daymond (N’Sync). Landing in Los Angeles with his new sound Micah became “One of the Indie Artist to watch” (Rolling Stone) winning many indie artists awards and performing his mix of music and spoken word across America. The remix superstars THUNDERPUSS were inspired by Micah’s new work to write and produce a club single called “Welcome To My Head” which went to number one on the Billboard Club Chart and gained airplay around the world in 2003.
After coming home to Toronto in 2006 Micah toured the country with Jazz Diva Molly Johnson performing the tunes from his self titled singer songwriter MICAH BARNES disc (produced by Clint Yeager of the rock band B.C. and mixed by the legendary producer Geza X (Black Flag/Dead Kennedies) and working with his brother Daniel to build a catalogue of songs for an upcoming release (09) ..a return to the brothers partnership that launched their respective careers.
