Auto Biography of Veronica Powell
Veronica Powell
Born in Jamaica West Indies, she is married and the proud mother of three beautiful girls; she was raised in the church and for several years sang in the choir. Veronica demonstrated her abilities in singing as a lead vocalist in her church, and was later privileged to carry her musical career internationally and locally.
In 1989 she migrated to the United States in search of a better life; she enrolled in Interboro Institute and graduated fifteen months later Magna Cum Laude Associate in Accounting. She continued her studies by enrolling in John Jay College of Criminal Justice where she earned a Bachelor Degree in Public Administration, and is also a certified Cosmetologist.
Mrs. Powell has worked with the New York City Transit Authority, in the Accounts Payable Department and in the Law Department as a Workers Compensation Benefit Examiner. She also worked with the New York City Criminal Justice Agency as a Shift Supervisor. Currently she is gainfully employed with the Polk County School Board as a Substitute Teacher.
Mrs. Powell early exposure to gospel music, initiated her desire to become a recording artist. In 1999 she produced her first album, Titled “Mama Prayed”
And she wrote her first book, Poems In Depth.
In 2003, she produced a compilation of three CDS, Titled Zion Praise, Gospel Fever, and Africa the Mother Land; in 2004 she produced her fifth album O His Glory; in 2006 album six, Who Say Salvation Nuh Sweet, in 2007 album seven The World Needs Love. Mrs. Powell is an active member on the choir of Without Walls International Church in Lakeland Florida.
Her vision and mission is to motivate young people to find their purpose and pursue it. She also contributes to various organizations such as, Missionaries of the Poor, in Jamaica West Indies, Love a Child in Haiti, Gabriel Compound in India and Enslaved Christians in Sudan.
