Fresh, mature, deep, innovative, inspiring, heartfelt, enticing. These are some of the adjectives used to describe Giovanni''s "opera prima" in Guatemalan media after its release on December 2005. A fruit of years of voice training and musical education, this is the work of a true music passionate.
Over the years, Giovanni has nurtured from many sources. He has been a classical music and opera lover since he was only a boy, this definitely having an impact on him. However, having a very wide musical taste, he has also been inspired and influenced by other styles, notably the ones with Mediterranean roots, resulting in a different approach to contemporary latin music in Spanish. And despite it''s differences, it is still very close to the public.
The first single released from this album, the powerful ballad "Hay un lugar" ("There is a place"), has had continuous airplay in contemporary-adult radios in different cities in Guatemala, El Salvador and Panama. Currently, Giovanni is promoting the second single, "Me Envenena" ("It poisons me"), an up-tempo song with Spanish and Greek influences.
Giovanni will visit Los Angeles, CA and Miami, FL on July 7 and 10, respectively on a promo tour. Then visiting Spain in late September, covering Madrid, Sevilla, Granada and Barcelona.
The concert tour starts in Antigua, Guatemala, on October 14 and will take Giovanni to Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Panama.
