First and foremost, thank you so muck to Kelley Vice https://www.tradebit.com for his production talents, mentorship, and patience on my first walk down the recording lane.
I guess this whole story started back in 1969 when I was brought into the world.
Born in the lakeside town of Kelowna, British Columbia, I took my first gulps of air.
We moved around a fair bit and with each new town came a new experience and memory. Little did I know then that these stories were being tucked away for another day....
Most of my childhood years, teens and young adult life were spent like most Canadian boys, in pursuit of the "big leagues"--NHL that is.
After a lot of hard work, stiches, broken bones and lost teeth I made my way to the United States of America, and more specifically Wisconsin.
Lucky enough to get an education and play hockey...and enjoy beer, cheese and the Green Bay https://www.tradebit.com life continued to move along.
With the end of my college career fast approaching and prospects for fullfilling my dream to play in the show, slowly fading away, some decisions needed to be made.
The night I stepped off the ice for the last time led to the day I walked into a music store for the first time. Four pairs of pawned skates got me my first guitar.
I spent many a night that next summer, sitting under the Wisconsin stars learning chords as my fingers would allow and writing songs before I could play them.
I was brought up around great music and now it was time to make some of my own.
Initially inspired by strumming wordsmiths like Kris Kristofferson, Gordon Lightfoot, and later John Prine, Tom Paxton, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Townes Van Zandt, the harmonies of the Beach Boys, the energy of the doors and partiotic support of the superchared tragically hip, it was my time to explore.
As a thinker and a story teller I realized quickly that there was an energy in telling a story to music.
When I play and perform, there is confidence, vulnerability, anger, joy, love, and fear. All of it is feeling.
I now live in Seattle where I have just completed my first professional CD--titled "Catching up to Yesterday". Much love goes to my beautiful wife and son...
The experience can''t be quantified yet as it is all too new but I do know I am proud of the end result.
My influences continue to grow and I find myself moved by the many artists with great songs and stories being told across this great land.
Thanks for taking the time to read and listen.
