Details:
Papa John Alexander (John A. Faison) is a musician and songwriter originally from San Angelo, Texas, where his military father was stationed when John was 9 years old.
John’s dad gave him his first guitar at the age of 12, and John has played ever since. He joined the military after he spent a time traveling across the great State of Texas and then spent 20 years moving from Air Force base to Air force base, playing in bands everywhere he went, all over the world.
His last duty station was in Abilene, Texas where he was acoustic guitarist for “Crossroads” in the early 1980’s and Lead Guitarist for “Bareback” from the mid 1980’s until he “retired” from the road to spend the time with his wife, Linda and raise their three children. He retired from the military in 1994 and now calls Abilene home. Papa has a deep love for his “Home State” and that is undeniably reflected in his music.
Now that his children are grown, John and Linda spend a lot of time with the grandkids when John is not writing or recording in the studio.
The Compact Disk “Texas Rain” is Papa’s first solo recording, with his own songs, arrangements, and instrumentation. The CD is a labor of love and covers several different styles.
Papa continues to write, continues to play, and continues to live life to the fullest. Look for his next Compact Disk to be released sometime in June of 2010.
