In addition to the title track You and the Night and the Music popularized by Frank Sinatra, the album also includes Thad Jones’ lovely ballad A Child is Born, Michael Frank’s saucy and fun Popsicle Toes, Three Little Words made famous by Bing Crosby in the Amos ‘n’ Andy film Check and Double Check, one of Billy Holiday’s greatest hits God Bless the Child, Jimmy Van Heusen and Sammy Cahn’s The Second Time Around introduced in the Blake Edwards film High Time, Bluesette a classic jazz waltz written by the great Jean “toots” Thielemans, Twilight World a beautiful Bossa nova by Marian McPartland and Zing Went the Strings of My Heart/The Trolley Song Medley which Judy Garland immortalized in the film Meet Me In St. Louis.

Kenny & Leah regularly perform their special brand of music at cabaret venues and private functions around the country. From her beginnings as a classically trained mezzo soprano, singing fluently in six languages, Leah has flowered into a multi-ranged performer equally comfortable singing jazz standards, Broadway treasures, Torch songs, Brazilian classics as well as the passionate sounds of Fado.
During the 1980’s Leah performed on several luxury liners, among which was the elegant Fiffanella. Leah has recorded with Brazilian guitarist/singer Paulinho Garcia, performed with world renowned Jazz Steel Drummer Othello Mollineaux, and noted jazz pianists, Kenny Drew, Jr., Richard Drexler and Judy Roberts, to name a few. An actress, singer and dancer, Leah has also modeled internationally, performed with symphony orchestras, big bands (including Lawrence Welk) and has sung at many jazz festivals. She continues to push the envelope and has added sign language to her repertoire.
Kenny Soderblom, an accomplished saxophonist, bandleader and producer, has enjoyed a multifaceted career, contracting and performing with orchestras accompanying Frank Sinatra, Quincy Jones, Tony Bennett, Nancy Wilson, Rosemary Clooney, Peggy Lee, Lena Horne, Julie Andrews, Burt Bacharach, Benny Goodman, Mel Torme, Henry Mancini and Steve and Eydie, Bobby Rosengarden (Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Jerry Lewis Telethons), Dick Hyman (92nd Street Y in New York) and many others Other career highlights include soloing with Sarah Vaughan and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and performances on a 9 country international jazz festival tour with Gerry Mulligan. Kenny’s professional background includes 8 years with the CBS/Chicago Staff Orchestra, 4 years as Music Director, Chicago Theater and Associate Music Director, Magic Mountain opening season in Los Angeles as well as performing on thousands of TV and radio commercials working as a free-lance musician.
All of Kenny & Leah’s recordings on You and The Night and The Music are backed by the talented pianist and arranger, Richard Drexler and world reknowned drummer Harold Jones.
