Details:
Karmann Powell is a “genetic” musician who has performed from a very young age. Influenced by folk, country, gospel and bluegrass, Karmann’s style is distinctly Americana. Her dynamic vocals set her apart from the crowd. She is a songwriter, as well as an interpreter of other’s songs. She lives in the Bradshaw Mountains near Prescott, AZ.
“Morning Prayer” is Karmann’s second CD and is a collaborative effort with her husband and sound engineer, Stan. Karmann wrote/co-wrote the songs, sang lead and back up vocals, played acoustic and electric guitar, bass, banjo and mandolin, and did all the editing. Stan played drums and took care of the technical side of the equation, including mixing and mastering.
Special notes on a few of the songs: “Daddy O” was inspired by You Matter Ministries, an organization that works with homeless people in down town Phoenix (https://www.tradebit.com). “Why Don’t They Pray?” was co-written with Lynn Goveia. “Master of All I Am” is based on a poem written by Christine Posemato. The song “Why?” is dedicated to the memory of Ken Sloan, whose life inspired a song about his passing.
