…eclectoplasmacoustic folk’n rock™ of Greg Allen and friends!!

"Tales of the Uneasy Writer" is Volume I in the SongSharing Studio Series, designed to promote the SongSharing non-profit organization and the Charlottesville, VA area musicians that have been "Making Music More Accessible"(tm).

Greg Allen is a singer-songwriter that performs solo and in the duo Grasping At Laws - which includes Granville Braxton on percussion and backing vocals. Greg is a Realtor® who been doing community musical performances for under-served audiences since 1994 and was instrumental in the founding of the SongSharing organization. This first Studio Series CD features six of his original songs.

We started with Greenwood Studio and producer Jeff Romano, who recorded and mixed "Tales...". Jeff is well known as a performer in the Charlottesville music scene, and as an engineer - having produced the work of Paul Curreri, Devon Sproule and the Hogwaller Ramblers among others. Jeff has done many SongSharing performances over the years, entertaining musically and with the presence of his faithful pooch "Jimmy".

We gathered a strong lineup of busy Charlottesville area musicians into the studio to make this project a reality. We began with SongSharing volunteer musicians that have dedicated many hours to performances for our Community Venue audiences.

Emily McCormick (Proutt & McCormick), Julie Goldman-Caran, and Granville Braxton provide rich, haunting vocals across the album; Thomas Gunn brings his precise, stylish, "fresh-clectic" guitar playing to the song “Yugen”, and Jeff Romano (Nickeltown) lays down some noteworthy harmonica licks throughout the opening cut "Jumpin'' thru Hoops".

You can find Emily, Julie, Granville, Thomas and Jeff all represented on other projects at CD Baby.

Studio musicians added a great deal to the finished product, and we are grateful to these folks for bringing their heart and soul with them in a big way. Richelle Claiborne added backing vocals, Nate Brown drummed, Bud Bryant played bass throughout, Charlie Bell brought the dobro and pedal steel, John Rimel added piano & keyboards and Ian Gilliam played a Stratocaster as only he can.

Initial reports are that the CD appeals to young and old and middle aged. That translates to “You will most likely enjoy it, and if not you will certainly know someone that will.” On that basis, SongSharing offers a money-back guarantee for the CD – if you honestly don’t like it, and don’t know someone that would enjoy it as a gift, we’ll get your money back to you. Not shipping, but your CD money.

Proceeds from the CD benefit SongSharing, a 501c3 non-profit that makes music more accessible by bringing live performances to underserved audiences. Our venues include Region 10 centers where retarded adults meet every day, the Kluge Children’s Rehabilitation Center and a variety of senior and adult care, nursing and assisted living facilities. SongSharing provides musicians to community functions such as the County Fair, Albemarle Housing Improvement Program events, Rivanna Trail Foundation events and the like. We receive support from area sponsors and donors, and provide our music free of charge to our beneficiaries.

The Studio Series CD’s are a major step in the win/win mission we have of promoting the musicians that make SongSharing happen!! It’s our way of Making Their Music More Accessible to YOU!! Thanks for your support – visit https://www.tradebit.com
