Like a bullet greeting a deranged mind the sound of The Kunst Conspiracy is nothing less than a full frontal assault on the audio senses. The name of the band was chosen to describe their disturbingly harsh yet artistically beautiful sound that they could produce. Never writing a song that sounds similar to the last, TKC is a conspiracy of sounds so to speak fixated in a musical form. Music being a form of art, the German word kunst (which means art) was incorporated into the name.
In November of 2002 the band was formed by multi-instrumentalist and vocalist NiL in Greeley, Colorado under the moniker Kunst with partner in crime Sam L‘Orange (guitar and vocals). In early 2003 the band released a five song demo entitled The Perfect Nothing and released it’s first full length LP that following year called A Head Without A Clown. The album sold 2,000 copies within three months of its release solely through independent distribution provided by the band only. The record soon caught attention over seas in the United Kingdom and begun getting added to regular rotation throughout many European radio stations and internet broadcasted radio shows such as Gramie Dee’s infamous Autopsy Report.
As NiL relocated the project in late 2004 to Chico, California he teamed up with fellow multi-instrumentalist and vocalist John Harris and the band was re-dubbed The Kunst Conspiracy. Adding Ezekiel Hughett on Synthesizer, Mat Leathers on Bass and Patrick Harvey on drums the TKC line up was complete. As it turned out, A Head without a Clown had created such a buzz in the industrial metal underground, the band began attracting record label interest and was signed to Chicago based industrial label Killing Jar Records in October of 2005.
The band then entered the studio to record it’s debut album under the name The Kunst Conspiracy in December of 2005 and re-immerged with a genre defying album titled Machination. With a strong influence of industrial music, heavy metal, and a pinch of fantasy metal and gothic rock the album portrays perfectly how versatile this band can be. The album is filled with captivating solos, catchy hooks, and quite disturbing lyrics. The songs are danceable and yet head bang worthy and is already predicted to set new standards in the world of rock. Although the bands contract to Killing Jar Records has been terminated on amicable terms, Machination is set for independent release on June 24th of 2006 and will be available to purchase online through many digital markets, cd stores, and the bands official website (https://www.tradebit.com).
