Back up in them woods, amongst the tall oaks and the swaying cottonwoods, where the trailers and the trash run rampant, from the depths of the Ozark muck, an outfit of tunesmiths and storytellers was spawned, and they called themselves Powder Mill.
These boys took the instruments their uncles, daddys, and granddaddys played when they was young, and they bred that traditional sound with the rock & roll and blues they discovered when they left their home on the Current River. These influences came together on their 2008 critically acclaimed debut record "New Mountain". Shortly after its release, the boys wasted no time in returning to Trumble Hill Studios on beautiful Miller Lake in the heart of backwoods Carter County to confidently begin work on "Do Not Go Gently".
Powder Mill''s sophomore effort proves that these "Millbillies", as their dedicated fans so affectionately call them, have matured into a musical ensemble whose music-making has never been attempted before.
