Details:
The Steel Toe Boots are a North Vancouver-based country group whose high-energy performances can transform the smallest venue into a frenzied house-party-like atmosphere, and the largest into a fist-pumping rock concert. Regulars on the Western Canadian country club circuit, their reputation for entertaining audiences and crowd interaction is a badge worn with pride. The band’s childhood friendships translate into fantastic on-stage chemistry for dynamic performances that bring people to their feet and onto the dance floor night after night.
The band’s focus on entertainment at live shows and up-tempo songwriting seems to put smiles on people’s faces wherever they play. The Boots’ eclectic influences culminate in a rebellious, yet tastefully familiar sound, showcased on the band’s independent first album, “Cross the Line."
Produced by Kirby Kaye (Whiskey Jane), Cross the Line was recorded at Mushroom and TopSpinn Studios in Vancouver. John Webster (Aerosmith, Tom Cochrane) engineered some of the sessions, and mixed the eleven-song record in early 2009. The songs were exclusively written by the band, ranging from classic-style shuffles, to upbeat new country blending rocking guitar rhythms and riffs with traditional instrumentation and lyrical themes. The boys dipped into the local B.C. country talent pool with Mike Sanyshyn (Aaron Pritchett) on fiddle, Scott Smith (Aaron Pritchett) on pedal steel and dobro, and Adam Dobres (Ridley Bent) for some additional guitar work.
