Biography
“If you''re searching for the next big punktronic crossover hit look ye no further!” - Azltron
“When they''re really pumping, the guys in Future Future can deliver a mighty whomp. When they''re going for pop...they come up with some strikingly catchy melodies.” (5++) - Babysue/LMNOP
Comprised of teenage brothers, Jordan Lawlor (vocals, guitar, keyboards, bass) and Jamie Lawlor (drums and percussion), Future Future''s first, self-titled, independently released EP is a sonic mural. It''s steeped in blips and beats, yet still maintains the bravado and vigor the duo acquired growing up in the Jersey punk scene. Using a theramin housed in a plastic baby head, a beer keg, a broken Rhodes Piano, a 150 year old family heirloom piano, and more, Future Future writes simple, catchy songs, and lace them in weirdness.
Drenched in electronics, somehow Future Future still bites down hard. The track “Teeth” sounds like a John Hughes tinged nightmare that eventually comes crashing into a down-picked, three-chord punk breakdown. The song “Dr. Albert” begins with a sound like a childhood music box gone terribly wrong; a dusty piano sample that leads into a theme song for the chemist that discovered LSD. This is music that crosses boundaries, still vicious enough to ignite a basement full of teen creeps, but with enough hooks and beats for a DJ to spin somewhere in Paris.
