BOB LENOX
Bob Lenox was born In New York in 1944, an American of Irish descent. His musical career began at age thirteen with the formation of the group, “Kiwi and the Dynamics” a rock and roll band. Capitol Records signed him, recording him for the first time. As a young composer and musician he developed his own individual jazz style, later adding folk and rock and roll, gaining a solid reputation as pianist and accompanist. Signing with Vanguard Records, he collaborated with a number of prestigious artists including Esther Philips, Garland Jefferies, Charlie Persip, Charles Mingus, Scott Fagan, Mort Shuman, and Jimmy Hendrix, During this period he contributed to a number of network television shows including, "Saturday Night Live", "Good Morning America" and "Don Kirschner''s Rock Concert". Leaving Vanguard and signing with Warner Bros. Records, Lenox spent several years playing top level-venues, writing and recording. No stranger to the drugs and alcohol typical of the entertainment industry, Bob’s mental, physical and spiritual health began to deteriorate. By the end of the seventies he found himself contemplating what he referred to as "the abyssal human fault which is loneliness. For years.
Disenchanted with the limitations of the popular American musical landscape of the eighties, he decided to ply and try his talent and luck elsewhere. In Berlin he met Tony Baillargeat and Elias Bellouti, the two having come to Germany to make a film. Impressed with Bob’s talent and charisma, they decided instead to put their movie money into the production of an album entitled, “Season of Souls” - a ten-title collection that like the titular “Season” is a force of nature in and of itself.
Bob’s voice echoes the heartaches, exaltations, and ironies of a rich and diverse life, well lived. It is the voice of everyman and at the same time, unmistakably Bob Lenox. His singing, playing and writing transcend descriptions circumscribed by time and place, country of origin, or musical style, to create an alchemy uniquely its own.
This new album “Romance” is a compilation of 13 original songs consecrated to romance and love. Sometimes sentimental, sometimes eloquent, but always authentic, they touch the heart of anyone who has experienced love, loss, and yearning, resonating true to the romantic in all of us.

“A monument in himself”
…The voice of Bob is astonishing, full of fine gravel, rough and avenger.
The Cry of the Coyote
“No cheating, only truth”
...Listening to him, I have the impression that many people have copied from him! …
he’s not one of our small singers manufactured in-house who try to make us swallow that they have talent, because you can hear in his voice, that he has lived, no cheating, all truth, an alchemy between Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash and Calvin Russell.
Yves Gustin, Big Bear
“A mysterious alchemy of influences and rhythms
…His voice is exceptional, authentic, refined, his style a mysterious alchemy of influences and rhythms going from blues to jazz,,,
