Bio:
Who ever said people with A/D/D should be medicated? Ryan Dalton can''t remember. But whoever said that was wrong! No meds required! Just give him a stage, a mic and you''ve got a comic with an erratic style and constantly fresh material.
Ryan Dalton is a homegrown Cleveland favorite. Ryan attended the prestigious Kent State University. After college, Ryan went on to hold part time jobs in such world-renowned trades as food service, retail, and coffee distribution. Finally, Ryan sunk his teeth into the most honest profession in the world, car sales. This dream occupation was not enough for him. Ryan hungered for the taste of stand up comedy, and on a dare, took the stage in Nanuet, NY in 1998. This experience started a hunger for the constant approval from crowds of complete strangers. His thirst would never be quenched!
Ryan soon discovered the entertainment industry where a basic lack of knowledge on any subject is not only necessary, but also embraced. He uses stand-up as a device in which he pokes fun at controversy and the "everyday personal injustices" that are dealt with by the common man, sorry, person, whatever!
Ryan is a comedian that wants everyone to just relax. His sarcasm and smart, conversational style makes for a broadly appealing show.
Ryan''s stand up has led him to regular appearences in the country''s best comedy clubs. Ryan is a regular on the nationally syndicated, "Bob and Tom Radio Show" , and he was featured as one of "https://www.tradebit.com''s Featured Comedians" (5/21/07-5/38/07). His performances have recently garnished attention from Comedy Central. Ryan had his television debut on the third season of Comedy Central''s "LIVE AT GOTHAM.
You Wer Funny Too:
You Were Funny Too is My 1st recording of comedy for distribution ever. Considering that I have been performing for over 10 years, this is a very limited library of work. Its not that I never wanted to sell a recording of my act, its just that I wanted something to sell that I myself would buy. The material is a culmination of the material that got me into comedy clubs across the country. Translation: these are the jokes that put food in my mouth. Some of the bits on the cd that are funny, make me wince to say onstage now.
You Were Funny Too was recorded in the world famous (I''m not really sure if its world famous) Winchester Music Club, in beautiful Lakewood, Ohio. Myself and 3 other comics (Bill Squire, Jim Tews, and Chad Zumock) got together and promoted a show that so that we may all have professional recordings of our acts. From those recordings we would make cd''s so that we may sell them to people that come and see our shows.
The name of the cd comes from the phrase that comedians hear every night, at the end of their shows. Comics usually hang out at the entrance or wherever people are emptying out of the club at the end of the show. They do this so that their insane self esteems can get filled up with the compliments of strangers. They do this because its the only way they can feel normal. I know. Its sick. On any given show there is a host, feature, and headliner. Any given audience member of the comedy show always favors one of the 3. Usually its the headliner, but sometimes its not. When the comics are hanging out at the end of the show, an audience member will approach them (usually drunk). They will say to the comic they admired, "You were hillllaaaaaaaaariouuss, you were so great! I loved everything you did! I wanna buy everything you ever do! I''m gonna follow you until the day that you die!" and so on. In the middle of this love fest is when the audience member notices the other comics waiting in the wings for their adoration. Instead of just walking away from the comic they have just verbally molested, they have to say SOMETHING to the other comics they obviously didn''t like that much. What they say 90% of the time is "You Were Funny Too". Gee. Thanks. I cant tell you how many times that I have been on opposite ends of that statement. If I had a quarter for every time I have heard it, I wouldn''t need to peddle this cd.
Ladies and Gentleman, there is a lot of crap for sale in the comedy world and I don''t want to add to the crap tsunami. I invested some real money and time into the recording of this disc. Whether people like it or not is up to them, but I can at least rest assured that I didn''t short cut on the production of the cd. Ok, maybe I did shortcut a little. The artwork done on the cd is done by my mom. She is an amazing artist, and I am honored that she would take the time and illustrate the covers for the disc. (Im seriously never going to hear the end of it). Comics make no money, so it took a little longer than I thought, but its finally done.
