The Band
Matthew Churchill - Electric Guitar: (aka Church, aka Chooch) Matt schlepped down from Anchorage, Alaska to New York in the spring of 2000. He met Trevor through a mutual friend and started playing music with him shortly after... they''ve been playing together ever since. He hates long walks on the beach... and can''t stand sunsets. He loves playing with the band but his real passion is working on improving the shelf life of the Twinkie. He lives in Queens in an alley behind a Diner, although he is thinking of upgrading to a dumpster in the new City Field parking lot.
Trevor Potts - Lead Vocals, Acoustic Guitar, Keys: (Aka Nibbles)... Pound for pound the best energy in town... stick and move baby, stick and move.
Joseph Polacik - Drums: We call him Curveball cause you really never know when are where he''s going to break... he truly is the most random tangent one could ever become.
Joe Mangan - Bass & Harmony Vocals: J. Mangan is from Philadelphia. He and Trevor were formally introduced at a fraternity function at an unknown college in New Hampshire, back in the good old days. Besides music, Joe does a lot of paperwork.
Band History: After Leaving Polymer66 in 2000 and putting out a solo record in 2001, Trevor grabbed Matthew Churchill (guitar), Jon Doran (bass), and Spencer Potts (Drums) to form Echo Lane. Shortly after Jay Wert (guitar) joined the band Echo Lane appeared in Rolling Stone''s January issue and headlined New York''s Howl Festival. In 2003 Spencer left the band to pursue other "more corporate" dreams... as a result, after a brief stint with Matt Tory behind the wheel, Joe Polacik entered the band and took over the drums. In 2005 Jay Wert left the band to be a grown up and start a family (it''s ok... we love him anyway). Joe Mangan then entered the picture as a guitar player and did not actually play bass for Echo Lane until 2006 when Jon Doran left the band to dive in to a fabulously successful adult film career. This is when, as a group, they decided to reform and relaunch as Red Directors and have been rockin the crap out of clubs in NY as well as other venues up and down the east coast ever since. I guess good things come to those who stick around.
