PERRY JOSLIN , JAZZ COMPOSER, PIANIST, CORPORATE EXECUTIVE, RELEASES HIS FIRST CD WITH A FLOOD OF TOP JAZZ MUSICIANS BEHIND HIM

Boston, April 25, 2004 . . . Along the road to corporate success, Perry Joslin always knew he was a musician. Partner/Managing Director for the State of Florida for KPMG LLP, the tax audit consulting firm in Miami, Joslin could well have fallen into the "fifty four percent of Fortune 1000 executives surveyed by Burson-Marsteller, the public relations firm, who did not aspire to become chief executives of their companies..."* Many opted out of corporate life. Not Perry Joslin. A gifted pianist and composer from childhood through high school and college at Ohio Wesleyan, where a professor of music heard his unique brand of music and recognized his extraordinary talent, Joslin, ironically, chose a career in business. Initially, he firmly opposed that idea, but it brought forth the resources he would need to launch his music career, now ready to take off. Ready at the gate to celebrate success and togetherness with Joslin are a group of musicians who, on their own, represent some of the biggest names in Jazz today. And Joslin continues his phenomenal corporate career as a corporate executive.

Joslin''s first CD, the Perry Joslin Project, marks his nationwide debut revealing a deep commitment, not without risk, to his music, that inner mechanism that has been his lifelong friend. A combination of jazz styles - smooth, fusion with overtones of the blues - bring variety to his songs. His inspiration came from Steely Dan, Chicago, Jeff Beck, Traffic and Miles Davis. He does not try to replicate their sounds, but rather how to replicate the feelings they generated with their influence. "My style is unique. Strangely enough, I love E-minor and the inverted chords. None of my business associates ever knew I was a musician, but my music has always been a top priority, the minor chords in my head all my life", thus the accolade Purely Perry.

Joslin''s eleven-song CD is deeply routed in the lives of his friends and family. A brief description follows including the musicians playing with him.

Perry Joslin, 43, was born in New England and grew up in Lenox, Massachusetts, a panoramic setting that is home to the summer program of the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood and the newly founded Tanglewood Jazz Festival. Growing up in this atmosphere fed the then classically oriented pianist who, parking cars as a teenager during the summer on the Tanglewood grounds, became friendly with the musicians who frequented the area and, through them, developed a keen sense of the music world that would later envelop him. He attended Lenox High School and transferred to the Tilton School in New Hampshire from where he graduated in 1979 and enrolled at Ohio Wesleyan College, graduating in 1983 but not before his burgeoning talent was noticed by Music Professor Charles Keller. Keller steered him toward jazz, culminating in Joslin''s forming an eclectic fushion band, writing songs and playing at a number of jazz clubs in the Northeast. Joslin''s business career began centered around money markets and, after serving four years as a broker for Thomas McKinnon Securities in Massachusetts, New York and Arizona, he transferred to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to care for his ailing grandfather. While there, he met his wife, Deborah, a former pharmaceutical representative. They married in 1990 after which Joslin began working for KPMG LLP, the tax, audit, consulting firm. Within three years, he became Partner/Managing Director for the State of Florida, a position he still holds.
