Biography
Jared Brown and John Magoon grew up together and have been life long musicians. Their collaboration dates back over 20 years. In 2002 they reconnected and devoted themselves exclusively to the art of songwriting. Jared says”…writing the best songs became our obsession-the turning point for me followed a song writing conference in LA…..600 inspired songwriters from around the country and world with the 5 major record labels in attendance- .” Jared writes the songs while John brings his …”incredible musicianship…” to the production end of the songwriting process. They have produced three CDs; Blue Moon, Ghost Song, and Borderline. The first two were recorded at Clarke Studios and the last at Allegash Studios.

"They''re a great act to watch, but a hard act to follow." Tom Rush
“...energized, vibrant, both powerful and intimate, are just a few words to describe what Jared Brown and John Magoon bring to their group, Allegash...the harmonies are great...Allegash immediately captures their audience...”

I look forward to attending more concerts and definitely will be watching for new CD’s. I’m hooked on their two CD’s, Take Me Down and Ghost Song… Top-rate music! Thanks guys for such an enjoyable evening.”

You guys did a nice job! Great crowd and atmosphere…Dave Ballou
Your music was great on Saturday night -- we are looking forward to more live concerts…you guys are getting better and better… It must be a wonderful feeling to have all your years of practice come together in music that you share... Sue and Bill Birchard
We love your new CD. Already listened to it several times…Bill Birchard- (Author of the One Minute Meditator and other books)
Their music has GREAT poetry! Their different vocal styles somehow meld into a sum that is greater than its parts. The gentleman on electric guitar has a compelling, eclectic style of playing… They have a LOT to offer!...(email to Sandy-Acoustic Café)
I really enjoyed your music and poignant lyrics. There is a universality to your songs that is appealing; a familiar story with a new perspective that demands reexamining one''s feelings and belief…this season''s coffeehouse has been a good one for attendance and your show was the best attended of all (over 120)…
…thanks again for your wonderful performance...

…my take on the group Allegash, who played at the Acoustic Café on February 21….not quite folk but not quite soft rock either. I loved listening to the songs that they’d written, and picked up one of their CDs…I’ve pretty much already worn out their CD back and forth on all the traveling I’ve done… a unique blend of guitar, keyboard, and lyrics unlike anything I’ve heard anywhere else…wonderful stories and histories about all the songs …makes their music refreshing and unique…I would “clear my calendar” to hear them again…… Barbara
