Summertime’s Callin’ Me!!!! Indeed it is. While the Catalinas will be forever indelibly linked to this tremendous Carolina Beach Music classic, their performing legacy actually dates back to 1957. Surviving countless personnel changes over the years, the group has continued to prosper and finds itself today at the vanguard of the Beach Music scene---one of the absolute premier Carolinas groups---and challenged only by The Embers and Harry Deal & Galaxies in terms of group longevity. This great reunion of original members was recorded at the Cellar in Charlotte , NC and features a sterling lineup of well known tunes of the 50’s and 60’s---tunes the group actually performed live during their original stint in the band. Members from this original era included Jack Stallings, Tommy Plyler, Johnny Edwards, Bob Meyer, Sidney Smith, Rob Thorne, Johnny Barker and Gary Barker. The show was emceed by well known radio personality from the 60’s Rusty Page, who produced the band’s first breakout hit in 1967, “You Haven’t the Right”
