Biography. John R Campbell 5/5/2009
With the release off his latest recording "Pass It On" John contnues to be a strong presence, both as a performer and a writer of contemporary celtic music.
Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, he grew up around, and was influenced by some of the major players of the folk revival of the late sixties, and early seventies.
As a founding member of the Triangle Folk Club in Edinburgh John was influenced by the likes of Tom Paxton, Ewan McColl and Peggy Seeger, to name but a few.
John lives in Calgary, Alberta, and has moved ahead with numerous musical https://www.tradebit.com had great success with the celtic bands Draught Porridge, and its subsquent incarnation First Draft.
Since then he has pursued a solo career, and a full ensemble with ''"The John Campbell Band''".
John has surrounded himself with a lot of fine musicians, a lot of good friends and family, and a couple of very good CD''s. "Crossing Borders" and "Pass It On.
