A new album release
The remarkable personal journey of a modern mother who has beaten adversity and survived the harsh lessons of life.
Therese,(Tess) a single parent for the last twelve years has three children.
"The children in many ways have been an inspiration to me to keep writing music." says Tess.
Tess, a committed Christian would like to express that the album is not a compilation of Christian material, but in fact secular music that describes the true and often painful aspects of life.
"Despite the subjects of despair the album eventually leads the listener to a sense of hope, redemption and a future," explains Tess.
The album has taken over ten years for Tess to write and record. Many of the songs are based on her own experiences of childhood through to adult relationships and then parenting."
There is a real mixture of musical styles on the album, Rock, Reggae, Ballads, Melodic and Folk Rock, like life, there is nothing straight forward about this album.
Tess Hood sung and played percussion with a number of Rock and R&B bands before forming several writing partnerships. Progressive rock band Tantalus have recorded one of Tessa''s songs ‘Better Promise’ on their CD entitled ‘ Jubal’ and Tess also performed backing vocals on the track ''Salvation Comes''from the album ''Mad as a Hatter'' by Shadowland.
Tess has released the album under her own label, Jubilee Records.
