Details:
Multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter Tom Hill has opened for acoustic troubadour Bill Staines in Coral Springs, Fla., and performed extensively in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia: at the Kintyre Farms Scottish Festival, The Louisbourg Playhouse, the North Sydney Dockside Ceilidh, The Inverness County Centre for the Arts, the Judique Community Centre, and on the “Adam Cooke’s Kitchen Party” webcast from Shindigs Pub in Port Hawkesbury.
A product of the American folk movement who has immersed himself in traditional and modern Cape Breton music, he has a new CD, "Home Again," on the Attractive Nuisance label.
He accompanies himself on six- and 12-string guitars, five-string banjo, Appalachian dulcimer, bodhran and recorder.
His song "Rhythm Guitar," recorded by the Oak Ridge Boys and Johnny Paycheck, reached No. 69 on the American country music charts. Long story.
