MP3 MountainHouse - Timbre Line
MountainHouse is an acoustic music performance duo, featuring vocals, guitars, a fretted bass, and a disrespectable stab at harmonica. Though it could be argued they do their best work around a campfire above 8,000 feet, they have performed at sea level,

The two members of MountainHouse have a rich musical heritage. That, or maybe they''re just ol'' guys; you decide. They have been playing together in various formats more or less since 1985, and generally get along with each other very well. They''ve never missed a gig, and were only late once. Never happen again.
Steve Moore says that "...God only knows..." how long he''s been playing guitar. He has been in and out of a variety of cover and original rock bands for nearly 25 years. He fronted the bay-area-favorite, original blues/rock band Even Steven from 1985 to ''91, and a progressive rock band, Prophet, before that. Steve is also a veteran songwriter, and many of his fresh, introspective songs are included in every MountainHouse concert. He purports to own "...about a dozen..." electric and acoustic guitars, bass guitars, and a full set of harmonicas. Steve is also an accomplished luthier, having crafted fine electric and acoustic instruments, most notably the "Bajo" (which is frequently misspelled "Banjo") series of acoustic bass guitars which are unsurpassed in tone and volume. These unique instruments are critical to the sound of MountainHouse.
Wendell Wolff saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show, and received a snare drum the next Christmas. Ever since, he''s been singing, playing guitar, bass and/or drums in an impressive (to him) string of bands and groups, including Even Steven with Steve Moore. Regarding a preference toward particular archback dreadnought guitars, he offers the following, "I play Guild''s, just like Tommy Smothers." Along with Steve, Wendell is no stranger to multi-track recording, with many sessions to his credit. Wendell is also a composer, and many of his songs appear on the MountainHouse set list as well as on the Timbreline CD.
