Jazz Pianist & Songwriter
Bryan Wells has earned two Gold Records
for his songs made famous by Stevie Wonder –
“A Place In The Sun” & “Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday”.
The former song was featured in the Julia Roberts’ film “Charlotte’s Web”, and the latter in “The Kid”, starring
Bruce Willis. Another Wells song, “Someday at Christmas”,
was recorded by Diana Ross, and most recently, by Mary J. Blige.
Wells has garnered four Clio Awards for his advertising music compositions. Some of the high profile clients he has written for include Mercedes-Benz, Sear’s, Welch’s
ExxonMobil, Scope Mouthwash, Gillette, Macy’s, American
Express and Saks Fifth Avenue.
As a music director, he collaborated with Bette Midler.
He regularly appeared with her at the now mythic Continental Baths.
Wells is an active participant in the New York jazz scene,
having performed with his trio at the legendary Birdland.
Bryan has two CDs to his credit. The first was a collection
of standards, recorded with bassist Jay Anderson and
drummer John Riley. His new CD features his own compositions, with Kiyoshi Kitagawa on bass and Adam Nussbaum playing drums.
For the past nine years, Wells has been holding court at the piano at the famous Palm Restaurant, located in Manhattan’s theater district.
