Pedro Oscar Castillo, Jr. is the Creator/Founder of EXTASIS. EXTASIS has been a very long journey in which a dream needed to become reality.
In 1993, I became interested in my first composition entitled “Si Tu No Estas.” I came across these lyrics and found that I had the talent to integrate a melody onto the words and started to intone my voice into various interpretations from different artists. I was then enticed by the many different opportunities that the entertainment business offers.
In 1995, I registered to participate on the B104/All Valley Talent Show in which I was nominated to enter into the semifinalists as 2nd place winner in which was automatically entered into the finals. I saw that I was able to interpret and participate in different shows, different settings, and even participating in a TV Show, back then called “Aqui Rogelio”. I became more interested in my compositions and became affiliated with BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.) as a songwriter. I also started to exploit my own material my own way to different artists, different production companies, and record labels, by mailing copies of my lyrics and songs on cassettes and CDs.
In 1996, Tejano Music was at it’s peak and the recognized Tejano band “La Mafia” became interested in one of the most prominent compositions I had written “Pensando en Ti.” I have faith in this song and everything I have composed. I felt that I was not ready to give up my dream and creations, in which resulted that I did not turn in my song to this band.
1997 was more determining and more prominent, as I was getting recognized somehow for my original work. It was then that I created my own publishing company, EXTASIS.
In 2000, I signed publishing contracts with Zomba (https://www.tradebit.com), one of the most recognized publishing companies. I was determined to be recognized as a songwriter and was confident that I had made the right decision. It is an ongoing process up to now, but will get positive results from them.
In 2001, I resided to Houston, TX and was able to record a single demo for “Pensando en Ti” at Ram Productions. Time was passing by, so I felt I needed to upgrade my music. As we all know, music keeps changing every year, and I felt that my compositions needed a boost in a different rhythm as well as creating a new symbol and image for EXTASIS. EXTASIS was in my mind and felt the need of creating an eye catching symbol that expressed all my innermost feelings.
In 2002, I created the symbol in which led into developing my own website, https://www.tradebit.com. This symbol is expected to internalize in every ones desires to express themselves. My idea was to bond music with the wildest and most intense joy of an overpowering feeling of excitement.
Continuing my goal to succeed in the music business, in 2006, I recorded songs "Cumbiaton" and "Mira" at a known recording studio (Ram Productions) in Houston, TX. With production in hand, but not yet as the final draft, on January 17, 2009, and with much enthusiasm, I presented my demo cd to "The Ruby Group" Talent Search in McAllen, TX at La Mexicana Resturant. In which with great appreciation to this, I was able to perform only one of my best songs yet "Cumbiaton" at KVNO-TV48 UNIVISION/El Show De Marcos Valdes/ Alegre Despertar in McAllen, TX on January 24, 2009.
“I believe that the best is yet to come. PREPARE TO EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED. It all started as a dream and I will make it happen. Success does not come to you, you go to it! It takes discipline, desire, determination, and devotion to accomplish your dreams and goals in life. Do not give up by any circumstance or let drawbacks pull you down. Optimism will lead you into success as long as you believe in yourself.”
