"Vegas with Randolph" represents a multi year recording effort by some of the DC area''s most seasoned musicians. At the nucleus of VWR is the long running songwriting partnership of John Ratts and Eric Kern. Begun in high school in their midwestern hometown,
the duo has penned over 500 songs since then, many of which have received various amounts of radio airplay, use in TV and video, compilation CD''s, and covers by a number of recording artists. The VWR album was conceived
by John Ratts in 2003 to showcase a number of favorite songs written by the pair, both new and old, which have not yet been featured on CD. For the project, Ratts and Kern assembled a number of renowned regional musicians, several of whom had been bandmates in previous groups.
The band includes Dan Aylestock (Cherrysmash, Blues Condition), Erin Conley, David Purol (Stretching Regular, Euphoria, DC4), and Brock Harris.
Vegas with Randolph debuted in 2004 in Arlington, VA, performing many of the songs from the new CD. The band continually writes and records, and is currently recording songs for their second CD.
