Details:
Rising from the ashes of what was undoubtedly the greatest "Blue Peter Metal" band of their time - Thor''s Children - Evil Scarecrow have gone on to leave audiences awed by their Iron Maiden meets Black Metal meets sticky-back plastic performances.
With influences from artists such as Iron Maiden, Cradle of Filth, Megadeth, Marilyn Manson, Europe and of course Immortal''s make up application techniques, you can never be too sure what will be served up next, but that''s just part of the experience. Think Lordi meets Dethklok meets Spinal Tap, and you go some way to describing Evil Scarecrow.
Since the release of their debut album “Crowcifiction” and its follow up the “Hell Dog” EP the band have received praise from music critics and fans alike. They have gigged extensively in the UK winning the hearts of Metal fans wherever they are heard.
Nothing can really prepare you for the live Evil Scarecrow experience. They have played to captivated and robot-dancing audiences at venues as famous as the Main Hall at Nottingham Rock City, and ably supported acts as well known as Amen, Cradle of Filth, Soulfly and the infamous GWAR! 2008 also saw a first festival appearance, with Evil Scarecrow winning a public vote and getting the chance to open the main stage at Bloodstock Open Air festival.
2009 has seen the release of a second full length album - "Sixty-six Minutes Past Six" - and a successful launch tour around the UK. Drawing on a wide variety of heavy metal influences and genres, "Sixty-Six Minutes Past Six" is a step forward in song-writing and technical terms, and represents the evolution the band have undergone in recent times.
It is Evil Scarecrow’s impressive song writing and ingenious lyrics that are the key to their success, blending together humour with their love for all things Heavy Metal, though of course a bit of co-ordinated dancing never hurt anyone. It is this passion and enthusiasm that never fails to connect with their audience. Listen for yourselves, and if they invade a stage near you, check out the live onslaught... if you dare!
