Where did you grow up?
I was born in Kenly, North Carolina. My parents was Talfth Wilson and Sophia Wilson. I grew up in NYC.
When did you first become interested in singing?
In the 1st grade a music teacher heard me sing. Soon she had me singing in all the school plays and concerts throughout my elementary school years. She believed in me and told me I had real talent. Performing came naturally to me. While I was growing up I entered all kinds of singing contests and won many of them.
Who were your early influences?
My earliest influences were in my own family. Later I listened to Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, and Whitney Houston.
How did you begin heading toward a career as a professional singer?
Before I was a teenager I went to Star Time Studio and started with a singing teacher who had been once Connie Francis'' voice coach.
When did you start singing professionally?
After I finished high school I joined a band and began singing with them at local nightclubs and jobs in and aroud Queens. Eventually I became a solo act performing in various clubs in Manhattan and off Broadway. I traveled throughout the state where I performed in clubs and did concerts. I was the opening act for the Chi-lites and for Blue Magic at the Manhattan Center. That led to an invitation to France where I performed for the French people in their clubs.
What are your future plans?
I believe in myself, I''ve got my own style and I think I have what it takes. I''d like to have my own band and perform both in the United States and internationally. My overall goal is to become a known artists.
