Kalpana a new film by Mihir Desai tells the story about the power of imagination. It is about a writer who tries to keep his wife alive through the power of stories.
Keeping the surreal story in mind, Mihir wanted some elements of fantasy in the sound track. Something that could help the viewer imagine and draw pictures of beautiful images. A kind of beauty that doesn''t exist in this world anymore. Imagination had to take over to make the impossible happen. Therefore a recurring theme was composed by the talented music composer Manav Khadkiwala. This theme became a motif in the film. Constantly playing at crucial scenes, making the audience sympathize for the main character.
Just like the film, the music of Kalpana draws a fine line between reality and fantasy and touches the hearts of all those who have ever been in love and lost it.
