Details:
Singer-songwriter David McAdams’ music incorporates strong elements of American roots music. He draws from folk, blues and touches on soft rock. His acoustic-rooted songwriting is organic, real and emotionally intuitive. His music is filled with engaging melodies and insightful, touching lyrics.
Music as Insight
Music for McAdams is a window into the self, a vehicle of self-discovery, art as a learning process. “I have seen my past, present and future, have felt all different kinds of pain and joy,” he says of his relationship with music and its sway over him. “I have looked inside myself and seen myself as others see me, have experienced many of life’s trials and dealt with them. I have expressed my own thoughts and feelings and related them to others, all through music.” The introspective effect music has on McAdams explains much about his ability to inspire the same self-insight in his listeners. Understanding of one’s self and through that, a keen grasp on the human condition, is a fruitful garden for an artist of McAdam’s songwriting caliber.
The Artist at Work
McAdams has announced that his sophomore album is now complete and ready. “I’m now recording my second album, which will feature the Honor Award song ‘Short Road We’re On.’” The album is slated to be released in Spring 2008 and will provide – for those who have yet to be treated to his music – a chance for listeners to explore the endearing musical realm of McAdams. Those familiar with his first album, “Rolling Train,” will welcome the opportunity to check out fresh music from this artist. He is currently working with A&R Select, the world’s leading independent artist development firm, based out of Los Angeles, CA.
“David McAdams’ music is bound up with American musical traditions but it’s hardly antiquated. There are few things more timeless than the purity of a talented man, his instrument, his voice and something to say – and therein lies the truth of McAdams’ music.” – A&R Select
