Details:
Remo Crivelli, born in Zurich, discovered his passion
for music already as a child. At the age of 9 he began to play
the piano and throughout the yaers he joined several rock,
blues and jazz bands. But he was always dreaming of a light
acoustic instrument that he could carry around and play
wherever and whenever he wished.
No wonder he fell in love at first sound with the hammer
dulcimer, which is in fact the original piano. He searched and
found the roots of this fascinating instrument in India and Iran.
He traced its path starting centuries ago through the traditional music of several Balkan and Arabian countries until it reached Europe and Switzerland.
During his studies, Remo Crivelli played all kinds of music. He became very well versed at his instrument and created his own sound and playing technique. Together with an experienced builder he developed a new chromatic instrument with pickups. Ever since then, nothing can stop him from realizing his ideas: “The hammer dulcimer is my emotional surfboard which takes me through all my waves of fantasy“.
Remo Crivelli has performed with several famous Swiss musicians such as Florian Ast, Luke Gasser, Co Streiff, Mario Feurer and Baschi’s Scharotl. He participated in special projects such as Theater Comedy, Ensemble Moderne, Expo Hannover /Swiss Pavillon, Expo 02/Sound Tower and poem readings with Peter Weber. Currently he is working on his own projects.
