Details:
Keith is a Sydney based singer/songwriter who has won numerous awards. His first release "The Coast Road" earned him the Rudi Brandsma Award from the Australian Songwriters Association in their 2001 National Songwriting Competition, when 5 of his songs made the finals from over 2500 entries. This award is for the most outstanding songwriter of the year. Keith has shared the stage with many profile artists such as Tray Cassar Daley, Jimmy Little and James Blundell and he is in the last stages of writing the songs for his eagerly anticipated second release.
Keith Armitage’s music is passionate and achingly beautiful. His gentle songs speak eloquently to dwellers on the fringe,
both coastal and emotional.

One of the great albums for 2001. Keith has a unique sound and a unique message in his songs.
- John Elliott, Australian Post Magazine
One of Australia''s real singer songwriters and a storyteller who holds his own along side Paul Kelly and Don Walker. A great album, and I actually took a detour to Bangalow to see the places in the song.
- Herm Kovac, Ramrod Studios
The thing I really like about this The Coast Road is that it''s a genuine songwriter''s album ...Keith''s excellent songs are strong enough to stand on their own, and that''s exactly how he has approached it - great musicians who provide the setting without ever intruding on the essence of the songs, allowing Keith''s distinctive vocals to dominate and tell the stories - and it works a treat.
- Mike Smith, NFS Publicity.
Keith’s heartfelt songs are framed by sun and surf and there is, for an Aussie bloke, a significant degree of heartfelt sincerity. A lot of thought has gone into crafting this album and it deserves a listen.
- Keith Glass, Rhythms Magazine
I love this CD, a magnificent beautifully warm, contemporary Australian country/folk album that captures a cruising, coastal, Combie-van feeling. I play it, through speakers outside the store, to the Cafes across the road and the response I am receiving has been nothing short of tremendous, and at present I can’t keep up the supply.

Every now and then an album comes along that grabs your attention and holds you tightly in its groove for longer than you''d expect and THE COAST ROAD is one. It''s a feeling that is worth cherishing and something that doesn''t happen as often as I''d like in Australian music anymore.

It’s uncanny, but Keith Armitage’s Coast Road represents The same idyllic lifestyle type music of the early to late 70’s. He would have to be one the finest interpretive singers I’ve heard since Richard Clapton. The voice is over raw emotional resonance. The lyrics to his songs burst with colourful reality and to close your eyes means a transcendental trip back to time when music & youthfulness was a journey of nervous expectation - when the songs left lingering memories full of good times and happiness.
Keith armitage is here to stay. His album "The Coast Road" Is one of the most uplifting I’ve heard in 30 years. I just LOVED IT!!
