Details:
Aryhel “1 Time” Freeman was born and raised in Atlanta, GA; this is where his passion and love for music was born also. 1 Time got into music in the forth grade at Oak Knoll elementary. It was during the drug awareness week were 1 Time wrote an anti-drug rap with the aid of his forth grade teacher. It was a creative way to be heard and 1 Time knew it was a passion for music that he would follow.
In middle school I Time would become friends with two classmates that would help 1 Time develop in his creative endeavors. Scottie, Lil Mike, and 1 Time would rap, write and freestyle anywhere that they could. This grind would open doors for them later. They remained close through middle school and worked harder in high school. They spend a lot of time outside of school together when 1 Time wasn’t throwing touchdowns on the football field.
Our rap laboratory was call the “Dungeon”, Scottie’s basement room. This is where they constantly writing music and where their talents were discovered. Reo one of our friends from the “1800 block” had a cousin that was known in Atlanta’s underground music market. Reo took us to a well-known studio in the southwest Atlanta area called “T&S Studio”. Producers like Mid-Night Black and Shawty Redd worked out of that studio and every big name artist in the music industry from the Atlanta area did also. This is where we met Mr. Bigg Time. After hearing us rap he took us under his wing and provided a lot of insight to the music industry.
1 Time and his friends did countless shows and were in the studio working with big named producer as often as they could. I Time was consumed by the music and rapped all the time. This made for a lot of cafeteria freestyle battles and during this time 1 Time became friends with a well-known Atlanta rap. They would all pursue music as hard and as long as they could. As the high school years went by, their agendas grew different ways.
In 2002 1 Time was the number 11 quarterback in the county and could have attended to any university in the county. 1 Time chose to attend the University of South Carolina. 1 Time played there for two years then transferred to South Carolina State University where we won the MEAC championship. 1 Time’s first son was born at the time and 1 Time needed to make some life changing decisions for my family. 1 Time was a criminal justice and knew I wanted to serve the community. Law enforcement has always been a passion and 1 Time knew that it would be able to support my family and the community.
1 Time applied at a local department in the area where he took on the responsibility of policing full time and also full time fire fighting. 1 Time was serving the community to the max and loving it. 1 Time want to the South Carolina Criminal Justice academy where he over came the conditions of the environment and being away from my family for so long. After graduation from the police academy, it was right by off to the South Carolina Fire Fighting academy where he trained in the extreme heat of a South Carolina summer and the extreme heat from burning structure fires with full bunker gear.
1 Time got all the training behind he and hit the street hard. 1 Time became a household name in the community and around the department for my “go hard or don’t go home” attitude. I stayed consistent month after month and gain more knowledge everyday. 1 Time excelled in the traffic enforcement writing hundreds for tickets every month and getting all types of contraband off the streets. 1 Time knew that traffic was his love. After staying at the local department for two and a half years, 1 Time began his journey to the highway patrol. The application process took forever but 1 Time was accepted by the South Carolina Highway Patrol to attend patrol school. After going through another several months of extreme training 1 Time was back on the streets picking up where I left off. Loving his job and music, 1 Time decided to put the two together. 1 Time love all types of music but there were only a few song made over history that were made for the police. He wanted to make something that the police could listen to and relate. 1 Time expresses feelings and thoughts that the police would like to express on the road but can’t. A new genre has been created and I will keep making police music until the day I die! 1 TIME!!
