Details:
Hailing from Manchester England, with an average age of 23, The Filthy Souls possess a creative maturity beyond their years, and strength of voice that transcends era and classification.

At the young age of 14, singer/songwriter Dave Green joined with guitarist Anthony Lavin and drummer Marc Hogan to create and release their first CD, ‘The People’.

Three years later the band-mates went in separate directions to find their unique musical styles and sharpen their talents. During that period, Dave spent a year in Canada writing. While there, he invited Anthony and Marc to join him and reunite. Bass player, Baz Robinson was added to complete the line-up and in October, 2007. The Filthy Souls were born.

The band became regulars on the UK music scene, playing everywhere from small pubs in Wigan, to the Manchester Academy 3. Crisscrossing the UK, they hit the festival circuit and opened for artists such as Tim Burgess of The Charlatans, and Finger Eleven.

Next stop: The USA. In July, 2008, The Filthy Souls flew to the States to tour Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas, playing such notable venues as The Viper Room, Key Club, The Roxy, Club Moscow and The Beatles Revolution Lounge.

Following that tour’s success, they self-released, ‘Boys Will Be Out For a Fight’ as their debut single in November 2008, followed by the EP, ‘Save Me’ in February 2009.

The music of The Filthy Souls has already been heard on TV, including season six of ‘One Tree Hill’, and on ''Vanished.'' The band made a live appearance on Manchester’s ‘Channel M’ and their songs will soon be heard on an upcoming episode of ABC’s ‘Greek’. The guys have been heard on radio interviews with Camp Freddy on Indie 103.1, with Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Introducing and on Manchester’s Key 103.

The excitement, the momentum and the buzz is building. Just listen and you will know The Filthy Souls.

Australian Daily Telegraph - May 3rd, 2009 -

"There’s a buzz around this Brit rock/pop group: think big, stadium-filling sounds, in the vein of U2 or INXS. But these guys are hard to pin down. Singer Dave Green has drawn comparisons to Kings of Leon’s Caleb Followill; there’s a bit of indie pop and dirty sexy rock in the mix, too. The Filthy Souls—Dave Green (vocals), Anthony Lavin (guitar), Marc Hogan (drums) and Baz Robinson (bass)—have been regulars at festivals for several years and momentum is really building, especially with the latest single, Boys Will Be Out For A Fight."

"THE FILTHY SOULS are one of those bands that does exactly what it says on the tin: full-blooded garage rock with a fuck load of spirit. A bit golden age Strokes with bigger balls, a bit Black Rebel, a bit bluesy, alt-country even; music that actually sounds sweaty and sexy. No surprises then that they come from the capital of such things... Detroit? New York? Nope. Wigan. Much like their geographical and spiritual neighbours Moco (one of whom''s down watching) this is rock''n''roll that''s not short on soul."

"The Filthy Souls sound is quite eclectic, but lead singer Daves voice threads through all the tracks well. They have an old rock sound for such a young band, and with an impressive musical past, beginning at age 14, they have done well to create a great following and a lovely strong sound. I love ''Sweet Southern Belle’; it''s a sweet, southern old-style song with a Manchester twist, and gravely vocals. Definitely a name to watch out for and gaining interest from people like Chris Moyles, catch them now!”
